The Malta Citizenship by Investment Program offers a structured path to obtaining citizenship through direct economic contribution. This program grants investors and their families access to visa-free travel to nearly 190 destinations.









To qualify for Maltese citizenship, applicants must:
- Be at least 18 years old
- Contribute a minimum of 600,000 euros for a residence period of 36 months, or 750,000 euros for an expedited 12-month residence period
- Purchase residential property in Malta valued at no less than 700,000 euros, or lease a property with a rental value of at least 16,000 euros per year, both of which must be maintained for five years following naturalization
- Make a non-refundable donation of at least 10,000 euros to a registered Maltese non-governmental organization in sports, culture, science, philanthropy, animal welfare, or the arts
- Hold legal residence in Malta for at least 36 months (or 12 months under the accelerated option), maintaining a valid residence permit during this period
- Undergo a comprehensive due diligence process conducted by the Community Malta Agency to verify eligibility and ensure compliance

- Undergo Tier 2, Tier 3, and Tier 4 due diligence screenings before final application assessment
- Receive the minister’s decision on eligibility to apply for Maltese citizenship
- Submit the formal citizenship application following the completion of the residency period
- Undergo final due diligence verification by the Community Malta Agency before the minister’s approval
- Complete all required investments, property acquisition or lease, and donation obligations
- Visit Malta to take the oath of allegiance
- Receive the Maltese certificate of naturalization
- Undergo continuous monitoring for five years as part of compliance measures
