Recent Policy & Legal Developments
Grenada’s CBI program, initiated under the Citizenship by Investment Act No. 15 of 2013 and relaunched in 2015, remains among the most reputable global options due to its strong vetting standards and strategic updates. In June 2025, the Eastern Caribbean updated CBI frameworks—across Antigua & Barbuda, Dominica, Grenada, St Kitts & Nevis, and St Lucia—to mandate 30 days of physical presence in country during the first five-year period, introduce civic integration, enforce annual application caps, and create a regional oversight body (EC‑CIRA) to standardize due diligence and compliance
Domestically, Grenada’s Investment Migration Agency (IMA) launched an automated citizenship certificate process in early 2025, cutting processing times via digitized review and improved transparency. As of mid‑2025, processing times range from 3 to 9 months, depending on route and application completeness. These enhancements aim both to sustain the country’s visa-free privileges and to uphold the program’s integrity.
